Emory & Henry’s Theatre Department is for students serious about pursuing a career in the theatre. We offer preprofessional conservatory-style training, embedded in a rigorous small liberal arts school environment. A Bachelor of Arts in Dance is available for students who want to provide the basis for a lifetime appreciation of dance and/or for a professional or educational vocation in dance.

 

Our dance program offers a diverse curriculum focusing on vernacular dance styles. Our focus is on dance with a theatre emphasis, allowing students to learn both aspects simultaneously.

We also offer a variety of degrees so you can study what YOU want. Our small class-sizes mean personal attention and more opportunities for you — on stage and off. Our unique and dynamic association with the Barter Theatre, the State Theatre of Virginia, means our students get hands-on experience with professional theatre artists throughout their four-year degree.
