What is the schedule for the MARCAs event?

          The MARCAs will take place this year on Friday, November 13th, & Saturday November 14th. The                          schedules for Acting/Directing, Design/Tech, and Dance all vary on the day. The schedules can be found             on the Student Schedule page.

What is the structure for the Acting/Musical Theatre auditions?

          Once students check in for their respective audition block, they will report to their assigned holding room

          for a group warmup. After the group warmup, they will be guided backstage of Pfleeger Auditorium to be

          on deck for their audition.

 

          Later in the day, Callback Sheets will be posted for every school, informing students what

          programs would like to speak with them at the College Fair. Please note that callbacks

          are not performative callbacks. Additionally, regardless of callbacks, students are encouraged to speak

          with program reps if they are interested in the school.

 

What should a student prepare for the Acting/Musical Theatre auditions?

         For the student's audition, they should be prepared to slate (say your name and what you've prepared)

         and perform two contrasting monologues for Acting or a monologue and song for Musical Theatre. 

         There is a two minute maximum for time slots, so both monologues - or song and monologue -

         performed together should be within a two minute timeframe. If you are interested in both, please prepare

         a monologue and song. 

         A volunteer will raise their hand when your time is almost up. At the end of the 2 minute time limit, you               will be cutoff with a simple "Thank you", and your audition will be over.​

What is the structure for the Design/Tech interviews?

          Once the students have completed setting up their design presentations in Boyd Auditorium, recruiters

          will interview the students.

  programs would like to speak with them at the College Fair. Regardless of callbacks, students are     encouraged to speak with program reps if they are interested in the school.

What is the structure for the Dance auditions?

          The students will audition in 2 back-to-back groups of approximately 20 dancers in three different forms

          per group: ballet, modern, and movement improvisation. This schedule can be found on

          the Student Schedule page.

Are parents allowed to attend their students' auditions?

          No, parents are not permitted in any of the auditions. Parents are welcome to stay in the upstairs

          lobby or Boyd concert hall while their student is auditioning. That said, parents are welcome and                          encouraged to accompany their student during the College Fair. 

    ***All student minors must be accompanied by an adult parent, guardian, or teacher***

Are there virtual callback sessions if I can't stay after my audition?

          No, callbacks are a fully in-person part of the event. Student's will meet with recruiters in the form of a                college fair at Business Hall on Rowan University's campus.

Are high school juniors able to audition?

          Yes, high school juniors, seniors, and college transfers are all welcome to attend MARCAs! For juniors, t.               this will be an opportunity to get used to the college audition process and find schools that are                             interested in them for the future.

          The MARCAs take place throughout Wilson Hall at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ.
