The DeSales Theatre department offers five different levels of acting courses, two musical theatre performance courses, two acting for the camera courses, two voice courses, a movement course, two directing courses, design courses in all areas, and a myriad of other courses typically only found in a B.F.A. program: Stage Combat, Playwriting, Computer Aided Drafting, Costume History, Stage Management, etc.

In addition to our classroom curriculum, we offer a myriad of opportunities so that our students cultivate a competitive work ethic in their field of study. Our department produces six main and second stage productions, more than 75 studio & TV/film projects, a Shakespeare tour, a New York City Showcase, and internships with Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, the professional wing of the department, which offers the Equity Membership Candidate (EMC) program. DeSales is one of the few schools able to help you earn weeks/ points toward your EMC as an undergraduate. These opportunities, along with established partnerships offering hands-on, industry-based international internships, allow our students to launch their careers with notable professional experience.
